The Arkansas Legislature voted unanimously on February 16, 2011, to recognize the month of September as “Arkansas Gospel Music Heritage Month.” Join us Friday, September 12th, at noon for a soul-stirring celebration as we recognize Gospel Music Heritage Month at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center! We will explore the history of Gospel Music in and outside of Arkansas with a panel consisting of local gospel music artists, radio personalities and producers, plus a live solo performance that will uplift your spirits. This lively panel discussion will bring enlightening perspectives of Gospel Music through the eyes of those who are deeply rooted, involved and are resolute in preserving this rich heritage. Panelists to include: Sheree Evans – soloist, choir director, recording artist and executive pastor; Dr. Dedric Jones – state chapter representative for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, music producer, song writer, national recording artist, and choir director; Bishop Fred Harris – radio station owner, radio personality, and pastor; Valerie Keener – local chapter representative for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, recording artist, and choir director; Bishop Kenneth L.
