The Declaration of Independence will be 250 years old in 2026. We’re kicking off a year-long commemoration of this significant milestone with an Independence Day to remember. We’re offering free admission all day and free indoor activities for kids of all ages from 10 am to 2 pm. The first 250 visitors will receive a free American flag from the Arkansas State Society of the Daughters of the American. Join us on the east lawn at 2 pm to witness a battle reenactment while enjoying ice cream donated by Blue Bell Creameries. Activities include visiting with the Daughters of the American Revolution, exploring a Revolutionary War encampment, creating patriotic crafts with the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas History, making your own campaign button and regimental flag or personal standard, practicing your calligraphy skills and adding your signature to the Declaration of Independence. Presented in partnership with the Arkansas State Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Early Arkansas Reenactors Association, the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, and Blue Bell Creameries.
