Terrorism

Terrorism, as defined by the FBI, is “violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups” inspired by ideology or by a sponsoring nation. While there were terrorist attacks prior to the Clinton Administration, in addition to domestic terror attacks, the 1990s were the period during which non-state foreign terrorism escalated. This culminated in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 - less than a year after the Clinton Administration ended.

While the Clinton Library has many records on both domestic and international terrorism, some of these may remain classified for reasons of national security.
