This material covers cabinet member letters, commerce speeches, Crime Stats in the US, immigration, speeches used for reference, the Reinventing Government speech, State of the Unions, Summit of the Americas, the administration's accomplishments, the Character Building Conference, the Crime Conference, drugs, Faces of Hope, the Family Conference, Gay/Lesbian Issues, Contract with America, the Olympics, the Leadership Summit, victims rights, the budget, literacy, D-Day, the G-7 Summit, education, and the National Day of Prayer. There is material that relates to a few of the President's trips, radio addresses, downsizing, Free Air Time, interview requests, senate and congressional races, Latino Outreach, UNGA [United Nations General Assembly], domestic violence, mentoring, television, trade, and welfare. The reports relate to immigration, Technology and Communication, the Olympics, and Assessing the Condition of American Democracy. The excerpts from manuscripts and books contain copies from Public Papers of the Presidents which include LBJ related to Civil rights, Inaugural addresses from former presidents (FDR, JFK, RR); State of the Unions, Reagan's Republican National Convention speech, and an excerpt from “Overcoming Race: Army Lessons of American Society.” The news articles and correspondence are from Fox Morning News, LA Times, CNN, Letterman, Larry King Live, PBS, New Yorker, and Talkers Magazine. They relate to the budget, the State of the Union speeches, crime, guns, civil rights, and affirmative action. The presidential schedules contain some schedules from 1996 and 1997. The telephone message forms and telephone call lists are from 1996 and 1997, they are for Don Baer or other White House staff. Staff and Office files were maintained at the folder level by staff members within their individual offices and document all levels of administration activity. Staff and Office files are processed at the folder level, that is, individual documents are not selected and removed from a folder for processing. While this method maintains folder integrity, it frequently results in the incidental processing of documents that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
