This collection includes briefing papers for July 2, 1993 concerning a statement on the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) Report. Topics also include meeting with the foreign press, the Media Opinion Leaders luncheon, video taping/radio address taping, and a private dinner event at the White House.

FOIA request 2006-1194-F consists of briefing papers relating to the activities and events scheduled for the President for July 2, 1993. The briefing papers summarize events by stating each event’s purpose, providing some background information, listing participants, identifying the type of press coverage and describing the general sequence in which things are to happen. Records that were responsive to this FOIA were found in one collection area - Clinton Presidential Records: White House Staff and Office Files. As policy, Staff and Office Files are processed at the folder level. That is, individual documents are not selected and removed from a folder for processing. While this method maintains folder integrity, it frequently results in the incidental processing of documents that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
