FOIA Request 2006-1726-F consists of memoranda, correspondence, news articles, background materials, handwritten notes, press releases, copies of speeches, and talking points comprising the working files of Samir Afridi, who served as Speechwriter and Special Assistant to the President from September 1999 to January 2001. The records are all related to the writing of speeches given by President Clinton from 1999 to 2001, and Afridi used them in the process of putting together and drafting the speeches for which he was responsible. The responsive material deals with speeches written by Afridi for President Clinton on a variety of subjects such as education, the environment, disability legislation, and civil rights.
