FOIA request 2008-1185-F contains records from the WHORM subject file CO060, France. Records include correspondence, speech drafts, and schedules. Correspondence between President Clinton and French President Jacques Chirac (1995 – 2007) is included. The WHORM Subject Files – General includes correspondence between President Clinton and President Jacques Chirac thanking him for various visits and gifts. Also included, is a letter from President Clinton to Danielle Mitterrand, wife of French President Francois Mitterrand (1981 – 1995), regarding human rights. Letters from members of Congress arguing against nuclear testing in France are also included. Speech drafts include: President Clinton’s remarks on his March 9, 1993 meeting with President Mitterrand and his toast at the February 1, 1996 State Dinner for President Chirac. The WHORM Subject File – CF contains correspondence between First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and Danielle Mitterrand regarding their shared concern for the underprivileged and their desire for a future meeting. The schedule for President Jacques Chirac’s January 31 – February 2, 1996 visit to the White House is also included.
