These materials include National Security Council cover sheets and Department of State memos explaining which documents should be contained in the Secretary's briefing books. Scope and Content Note The materials in FOIA 2009-1156-F are a systematic body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA request 2009-1156-F contains records on Secretary of State Albright’s visits to South America in October 1997 and August 2000. Secretary Albright, who was part of a presidential delegation to South America during the October 1997 trip, traveled to Venezuela, Argentina and Brazil. During the August 2000 trip, Secretary Albright visited Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Ecuador. Documents responsive to this FOIA were entirely found within the NSC Cables, Emails, and Records Management Systems (RMS). The NSC Records Management System includes Records Management Office (RMO) profile sheets and a memo from the Department of State (DOS) Executive Secretary explaining the documents to be included in the Secretary’s briefing book and which DOS bureaus are responsible for the various briefing memos.
