This collection contains the files of Carolyn Gatz, who worked in the Office of Policy Development in 1993. The Office of Policy Development was responsible for advising and assisting the President in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of domestic and economic policy. Eventually, the Office of Policy Development was split into two new offices: the National Economic Council and the Domestic Policy Council. This collection includes news clippings and articles, memos, drafts of health care reform publications, informational packets, letters from the public, polling data, and publications; all primarily concern health care.

Carolyn Gatz worked in the Office of Policy Development in 1993. The Office of Policy Development was responsible for advising and assisting the President in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of domestic and economic policy. In January, 1993, President Clinton created the National Economic Council, carved out of the Office of Policy Development. In August 1993, he completed the split by creating the Domestic Policy Council. After the split, Carolyn Gatz went on to act as the Communications Liaison for the Interagency Health Care Task Force, in the office of Ira Magaziner. She was manager of the writing process that produced President Clinton’s health care plan. As of 2015, she is the Director of Metro Engagement on the Development, Finance, and Administration Staff at the Brookings Institution. The Carolyn Gatz collection includes news clippings and articles, memos, drafts of health care reform publications, informational packets, letters from the public, polling data, and publications; all primarily concerning health care.
