From 1996 until 1997, web published a series of articles titled “Dark Alliance.” The “Dark Alliance” series reported that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was involved with the crack cocaine trade in Los Angeles, California. This collection only contains press and internet articles emailed to individuals with White House email accounts. The articles mention Gary Webb’s book or series “Dark Alliance.” The organizations associated with the emailed articles are “ABC This Week,” “Drugsence,” Drugwatch,” “All Stories,” and “DRCNet.”

These records are stored in Search and Access Sets (SAS) that represent their originating computer program. The Automated Records Management System (ARMS) is a database that contains email records of the Executive Office of the President. This system maintained unclassified Presidential email. The Tape Restoration Project (TRP) is a database that contains restored emails from the Automated Records Management System (ARMS) from July 1994 through June of 2000. This system maintained unclassified Presidential email.

Chapter 22, as amended) and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (5 U.S.C. 552, as amended) and therefore records may be restricted in whole or in part in accordance with legal exemptions.
