This collection contains records regarding General Michael E. Ryan and the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia from 1996 to 2001. For most of this period, General Ryan served as the 16th Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. The collection includes April 1999 press clippings regarding the conflict in Kosovo and drafts of a thank you note from President Clinton to General Ryan for his commentary in a June 1999 Washington Post article on the NATO air campaign in Kosovo.
