FOIA 2017-0034-F contains records on the meeting between President Clinton and Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova on May 29, 1998. The meeting took place against a backdrop of violence between the Republic of Serbia and the breakaway province of Kosovo. President Clinton, who favored a negotiated solution to the conflict, met with Rugova to assist and bolster his position not only with his people but to increase the political pressure on Slobodan Milosevic, the leader of Serbia at that time. The records responsive to this FOIA consist of NSC Records Management numbered documents.
