Jonathan Levitsky is (as of April 2022) a partner in the law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton. He joined the firm after leaving the U.S. Department of State (DOS) in 2001. While at the U.S. Department of State, Levitsky was Counselor to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke at the United States Mission to the United Nations. He was also a member of the Policy and Planning Staff of DOS. Prior to executive branch service Levitsky clerked for the Honorable Pierre N. Laval of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and also for the Honorable John Paul Stevens of the U.S. Supreme Court. Levitsky earned his bachelor from Brown University in 1990, a Master of Philosophy from Oxford University in 1992, and a juris doctor from Yale University in 1995. Records responsive to this FOIA case include press points, press conference transcripts, administrative paperwork related to records management, and scheduling proposals. A significant number of records in this collection remain closed for national security reasons or are closed in part as required by statute.
