This collection consists of topics relating to various events attended by the First Lady, and her speeches and video greetings. Subjects include child care, teen pregnancy, the arts, microcredit, and education. The collection also includes material relating to her foreign travel, and articles she wrote during the Clinton Administration. Scope and Content Note Within the First Lady’s Office, Michael O’Mary served as a researcher and speechwriter from 1997- 1998. He went on to do work for the Gore and later Howard Dean presidential campaigns. He also worked as a special assistant to Larry Summers during Summers’ tenure as president of Harvard. The collection highlights topics relating to speeches and video greetings made by the First Lady on subjects such as childcare, teen pregnancy, the arts, education, while also documenting some of her foreign travel and newspaper columns she wrote during the Administration. The records include memos, schedules, briefing materials, drafts, and transcripts.
