This collection consists of photographs on May 19, 1994 of a Commander in Chief’s meeting regarding North Korea. President Clinton met with Secretary of Defense William Perry and senior military commanders to discuss national security and military related issues associated with events in Korea in the Cabinet Room. There are also photographs from a meeting with President Clinton and a foreign policy group regarding North Korea in the Roosevelt Room. Additionally, there are photographs from a foreign policy group meeting on June 16, 1994 regarding North Korea in the Cabinet Room, and President Clinton delivering a press statement regarding North Korea.

Gary Luck, Leon Fuerth, Robert Bell, Daniel Poneman, Vice Admiral David Frost, and Lt. Gen. Wesley Clark. In addition, on May 19, 1994, President Clinton meets with a foreign policy group regarding North Korea in the Roosevelt Room. President Clinton is advised by: Vice-President Gore, Secretary Lloyd Bentsen, Secretary William Perry, James Woolsey, Madeleine Albright, Gen John Shalikashvili, Strobe Talbott, David Gergen, Sandy Berger, Leon Fuerth, Tony Lake, Lloyd Cutler, Leon Panetta, Mark Gearan, and others. Photos include shots of the President talking alone with Albright and Gergen. On June 16, 1994 a foreign policy group meeting regarding North Korea took place in the Cabinet Room. President Clinton participates in the meeting and is advised by: Secretary Warren Christopher, Tony Lake, Madeleine Albright, James Woolsey, Secretary William Perry, Sandy Berger and others. Prior to the meeting, President Clinton talks with Tony Lake in the Outer Oval Office. President Clinton and advisors watch the news coverage of former President Jimmy Carter’s trip to North Korea in the outer Oval Office. President Clinton works with senior staff on his statement regarding North Korea in the Oval Office. Staffers gathered around the desk include: Vice-President Gore, Sandy Berger, Jeremy Rosner, George Stephanopoulos, Ricki Seidman, Bob Boorstin, Tony Lake, and Dee Dee Myers. The photographs also show the President working alone in the Oval Office. President Clinton delivers a press statement regarding North Korea in the Press Briefing Room. Prior to entering the Press Briefing Room, the President confers with George Stephanopoulos and Dee Dee Myers outside the Lower Press Office. During the Press conference, staff members watch the statement on the television in the Lower Press Office. There also photographs of Hillary Clinton being briefed by her staff in the Conference Room on June 16, 1994.

Processing is done at the Folder/Contact sheet level. While this method maintains folder/contact sheet integrity, it frequently results in the incidental processing of photographs that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
