Researchers should consult the archivist about related material. Omar Ahmad co-founded the Muslim civil rights and advocacy group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). In addition, Mr. Ahmad served as the Board Chairman from CAIR’s conception until 2005. He retired from the board entirely in 2009. Electronic records in this collection consist of internal correspondence about Muslim-American related events at the White House, press and news articles, and emails from CAIR-NET, a read-only mailing list published by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
