Novick, General Counsel, United States Trade Representative. Scope and Content Note The materials in FOIA 2022-0523-F are a selective body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related material. Robert T. Novick often went by the nickname Bob. He was hired as Counselor to the United States Trade Representative in 1997. Novick rose to the position of General Counsel of the USTR and served until 2001. He then took a position at the law firm of WilmerHale where he continues, as of July 2022, advising on international business and Asian affairs. These records include draft memorandum and materials circulated in preparation for trips over seas. The records include draft speeches, press guidance, and talking points. The records include press compilations and travel notices and information. This collection dates from September 1997 to May 2000.
