It includes correspondence to President Clinton or the National Security Advisor from Senators and Representatives on various Russian subjects, such as presidential trips to Russia, political reform, imports, aid packages, and legislation. In addition, the collection contains correspondence from President Clinton in response to Congressional queries and requests. The files also include background material, routine memoranda, and reports on U.S./Russian relations. Scope and Content Note This systematic collection was processed using National Security Council Records Management System (RMS) numbered documents. During the Clinton Administration, NSC documents were assigned an individual seven digit number by the NSC records management office, to assist in tracking and retrieval. For this project, records were searched in NSC RMS using the keywords, “Congress” and “Russia,” from 1993 thru 2001. The collection includes correspondence to President Clinton or the National Security Advisor from Senators and Representatives on various Russian subjects. The topics cover a variety of issues: presidential trips to Russia, firearms, imported goods, missile sanctions, political reform, Kosovo, aid packages, and legislation. In addition, this collection includes correspondence from President Clinton, responding to Congressional queries and requests. Background material, routine memoranda, and reports on U.S./Russian relations are also included.
