(2025-0080-F) White House Photos - Photographs Relating to Eric Eve, Special Assistant for Political Affairs

Approximately 674 photographs in color and black & white processed from 35mm negatives.

The photographs processed in this case consist of Eric Eve meeting with President Clinton and others during his tenure as Special Assistant for Political Affairs at the White House from 1995 through 1997. In addition, photos of Eric Eve greeting prominent African American athletes on behalf of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness including Muhammed Ali and others in 1996.

FOIA request 2025-0080-F is a request for all Presidential series photographs regarding Eric Eve. Eric was a Special Assistant for Political Affairs during the Clinton administration from 1995 through 1997. Photographs include: President Clinton confers in the West Wing and walks on the White House Colonnade with Eric Eve on September 14, 1995; President Clinton greets prominent African American athletes on behalf of the President's Council on Physical Fitness in the Oval Office on February 7, 1996. Guests include Muhammed Ali, Jim Brown, Calvin Hill, and others. Muhammed Ali greets Eric Eve and administration staff in the West Wing; President Clinton meets alone in the Oval Office with Eric Eve on March 7, 1996. They are later joined in the Oval Office by Leon Panetta and Evelyn Lieberman; President Clinton talks on the telephone in the Oval Office to New York State Democrats with Eric Eve, Leon Panetta, and Harold Ickes present on March 7, 1996. President Clinton talks with Eric Eve and Doug Sosnik in the White Scope and Content continued House elevator prior to attending a reception in the East Room for Pennsylvania State Day on March 19, 1996. Material processed as a matter of consequence includes several events from February 7, 1996: President Clinton talks with Jennifer O'Connor in the Oval Office; President Clinton meets with Keith Geiger, President of the National Education Association, in the Oval Office; President Clinton participates in the Olympic Coin presentation from Secretary Robert Rubin, Mary Ellen Withrow, U.S. Treasurer, Billy Payne, Atlanta Committee for the Olympic games, and others; In addition an event from March 19, 1996 was processed that includes President Clinton addressing a reception for Pennsylvania State Day in the East Room. President Clinton greets guest individually in the Blue Room.

Records that were responsive to this FOIA request were found in one collection area and one series—Clinton Presidential Records: Photographs of the White House Photograph Office and the series therein—Photographs Relating to the Clinton Administration. Processing is done at the Folder/Contact sheet level. While this method maintains folder/contact sheet integrity, it frequently results in the processing of photographs that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
