Prior to the remarks the President participates in a staff briefing. Present include Terry Edmonds, Doug Band, Joe Lockhart, Loretta Ucelli, Paul Glastris, Tom Malinowski, and John Podesta. President William Jefferson Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton attend a reception in the Yellow Oval Room at the White House. Guests present include Lodwrick Cook, Carole Cook, Smith Bagley, Elizabeth Bagley, Terry McAuliffe, Dorothy McAuliffe, Ron Dozoretz, Beth Dozoretz, Dr. Fayaz. A. Shawl, and Donna Shalala, among others.. President William Jefferson Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton arrive at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. The Clintons attend the “Bluegrass: America’s Roots Music Workshop” at the Baird Auditorium. Participants include Rocky Skaggs, Bill Ivey, and Rex Ellis (Director, American History Museum). The Clintons also greet members of the Golden Knights Parachute Team and participants of “Basketball: We Come to Play.” President William Jefferson Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton address the Millennium Around the World event at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center. Children from various embassies around the world are on stage with the Clintons.
