FOIA 2016-0100-F (Segment 9) is a request for all Clinton Administration White House photographs taken from December 1, 1999 through January 31, 2000. The photographs processed in this segment were created from December 31, 1999 through January 2, 2000. The segment contains photographs pertaining to: arrivals, departures, meetings, ceremonies, press briefings, interviews, photo-ops, etc., involving President Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, White House Staff and others for the time period processed. Photographs from December 31, 1999 are as follows: President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton host a Millennium Celebration dinner in the East Room and the South Lawn Pavilion of the White House. Notable dinner guests include: Muhammad Ali, Lynda Carter, Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese and others President Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton attend “America’s Millennium Lincoln Memorial Gala.” in Washington, DC. President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton deliver remarks at the Gala. Performances at the Gala include: Bono of U2, Jessye Norman, Kenny Rogers, John Fogerty and others. A laser show and fireworks were part of the Gala at Midnight. President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton confer with Loretta Ucelli in the Map Room before departing for the Millennium Opening Ceremony in Washington President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton arrive at 12th and Constitution Ave. in Washington to participate in the Opening Ceremony of America’s Millennium. The Clinton’s address the Opening Ceremony and close the doors of the National Time Capsule during the ceremony. The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute perform in the sky and parachute into Washington. Ceremony participants include: Peggy Charren, John Hope Franklin, General Colin Powell and others President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton address the Millennium Around the World event at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center in Washington President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton attend the Bluegrass: America’s Roots Music Workshop at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington. The Clinton’s greet members of the Golden Knight’s Parachute team and “Basketball: We Come to Play” program participants at the Smithsonian. Photographs from January 1, 2000 are as follows: President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton host a New Year’s Eve party at the White House. Guests include: Lynda Carter, Capricia Marshall, John Hope Franklin, Sec. Rodney Slater, Sec. Bill Daley, Robert Altman and others. Chelsea Clinton, Kelly Craighead and other party guests enjoy entertainment and dancing in the East Room. President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton deliver the President’s Weekly Radio Address in the Oval Office. The Clinton’s greet Radio Address guests in the Oval Office. President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton address a Smithsonian Volunteer reception in the South Lawn Pavilion President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton talk alone with a White House Kitchen staff member on the Ground Floor Residence Photographs from January 2, 2000 are as follows: President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton attend church services at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.

Records that were responsive to this FOIA request were found in one collection area and one series— Clinton Presidential Records: Photographs of the White House Photograph Office and the series therein—Photographs Relating to the Clinton Administration. Processing is done at the Folder/Contact sheet level. While this method maintains folder/contact sheet integrity, it frequently results in the processing of photographs that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
