The photographs processed in this segment contains photographic events pertaining to arrivals, departures, meetings, ceremonies, press briefings, interviews, photo-ops, etc., involving President Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, White House Staff and others for the time period processed. Photographs from January 27, 1994, are as follows: First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton arrives in Los Angeles, California. She was met at the airport by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director James Lee Witt, FEMA employees and members of the U.S. Army National Guard. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton participates in an event at Hyde Park Elementary School in Los Angeles. The First Lady, Deputy Secretary of Education, Madeleine Kunin, and others have a discussion with children, parents, and crisis counselors on crisis therapy. The First Lady addresses children from the school playground. The First Lady greets school faculty, board members of school district, and others. FEMA Director James Lee Witt, Mayor of Los Angeles Richard Riordan, Representative Julian Dixon, School Principal Mattye Fegan were all present at the school. Processing is done at the Folder/Contact sheet level. While this method maintains folder/contact sheet integrity, it frequently results in the processing of photographs that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
