(2008-0666-F Segment 28) White House Photos - White House Photographs from July 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000

FOIA 2008-0666-F (Segment 28) is a request for all Clinton Administration White House photographs taken from July 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000. The photographs processed in this segment were created from November 9, 2000 through November 13, 2000. The segment contains photographs pertaining to: arrivals, departures, meetings, ceremonies, photo-ops, etc., involving President Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, staff and others for the time period processed. Of particular focus are events around the 200th Anniversary of the White House celebrations. Many of these images were previously processed in FOIA case # 2007-0623-F. Another focus are events relating to Veterans’ Day celebrations. Photographs from November 9, 2000 are as follows: President William Jefferson Clinton participates in an interview with Selma Thomas of the History Channel for the Smithsonian exhibit ‘The American Presidency.’ The President proceeds to the Oval Office where he signs an unnamed bill. President William Jefferson Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton host the 200th Anniversary of the White House dinner (many of these images were processed in FOIA case # 2007-0623-F). First Lady Hillary Rodham converses with Capricia Marshall, Shirley Sagawa, Laura Schiller, Lissa Muscatine and Ellen Lovell. The First Lady proceeds to the State Dining Room for a Sculpture Garden reception event. The First Lady delivers remarks and greets guests present. Photographs from November 10, 2000 are as follows: President William Jefferson Clinton golfs at Army Navy Country Club. Photographs from November 11, 2000 President William Jefferson Clinton attends a Veterans’ Day breakfast event in the Blue Room at the White House. Present are Hershel Gober, Tom Hanks, William Cohen, and Thurgood Marshall, Jr., among others. The President greets guests in attendance. President William Jefferson Clinton speaks with various staff in the Oval Office including William Cohen, John Podesta, Doug Band, and Betty Currie. The President proceeds to the Rose Garden with Buddy and Chelsea Clinton. President William Jefferson Clinton greets Alston Johnson and his son in the Oval Office. President William Jefferson Clinton speaks on the telephone with President Fernando de la Rua of Argentina. Present are Sandy Berger, John Podesta, and Arturo Valenzuela. President William Jefferson Clinton attends events for Veterans’ Day at Arlington National Cemetery. The President places a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The President delivers remarks at the amphitheater. Included are various shots of military personnel and veterans. President William Jefferson Clinton attends a groundbreaking ceremony on the National Mall for a World War II memorial Gary Walters and Capricia Marshall are photographed in the White House. Photographs from November 12, 2000 President William Jefferson Clinton is briefed prior to meeting with Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Present are Madeleine Albright, Sandy Berger, Dennis Ross, Mara Rudman, Gamal Helal, Leon Fuerth, Aaron Miller, Bruce Riedel, and Rob Malley. The President meets with Prime Minister Barak in the (Nov. 12, 2000 cont.) Oval Office. Following the meeting the President and Prime Minister proceed to a working luncheon in the Oval Office dining room. President William Jefferson Clinton meets with staff in the Outer Oval Office including Sandy Berger, Nancy Hernreich, John Podesta, and Betty Currie. Photographs from November 13, 2000 President William Jefferson Clinton meets with John Podesta and Steve Ricchetti at the White House. President William Jefferson Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, and Dorothy Rodham depart the White House via Marine One en route Andrews Air Force Base. Air Force One departs en route Kona Hawaii with final destination of Brunei. The President, Chelsea Clinton, and Dorothy Rodham arrive in Hawaii and have lunch at the Mauna Lani resort.
