FOIA 2016-0984-F (Segment 63) is a request for all Clinton Administration White House photographs taken from January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1994. The photographs processed in this segment were created on June 30, 1994 through July 5, 1994. The segment contains photographs pertaining to arrivals, departures, meetings, ceremonies, press briefings, interviews, photo-ops, etc., involving President William Jefferson Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, White House Staff, and others for the time period processed. Photographs from June 30, 1994 are as follows: President William Jefferson Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton participate in a briefing at the White House prior to the small business universal coverage event. Present includes Erskine Bowles, Alexis Herman, Thomas “Mack” McLarty, Harold Ickes, Ira Magaziner, Pat Griffin, and George Stephanopoulos. Also photographed includes Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. and Melanne Verveer. The President and First Lady proceed to the small business universal coverage event on the South Lawn. Present includes Michael Oakley, Micki Schneider, Brian McCarthy, and Representative Butler Derrick. The President and First Lady greet guests in the Diplomatic Reception Room. Present includes Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator Harris Wofford, Senator Claiborne Pell, Senator Paul Simon, Senator Paul David Wellstone, Senator Chris Dodd, and Senator Howard Metzenbaum, among others. Also photographed is Magaziner, Chris Jennings, Dr. C. Everett Coop, and Verveer, and the President speaking with David Gergen. President William Jefferson Clinton & Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. meet with Senator Barbara Mikulski, Representative Louis Stokes, and Leon Panetta at the White House. Later the President meets with Linda Lader and Dr. Anthony “Tony” Campolo. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton walks with Secretary of the Treasury Lloyd Bentsen on West Executive Avenue in Washington, DC, and speaks with Mickey Kantor. The First Lady greets White House Telephone Operators & people outside the Old Executive Office Building. Following the events, the First Lady visits the White House Health Care information center. She is greeted by Roger Goldblatt who escorts the First Lady on a tour of the facility. The First Lady greets staff and volunteers present. Later the First Lady greets Lissa Muscatine and her family. President William Jefferson Clinton & Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. participate in a meeting at the White House regarding Haiti. President William Jefferson Clinton tapes his weekly radio address in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. Following the address the President greets guests in the Oval Office. President William Jefferson Clinton addresses the Presidential Scholars event on the South Lawn of the White House. The President greets students individually, along with White House guest Garth Brooks. Following the event the President and Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. greet Garth Brooks in the Oval Office. President William Jefferson Clinton participates in separate interviews at the White House with Polish reporters, Thomasz Liz, Klaus Walther, and G-7 journalists. The First Lady proceeds to an event to address the National Education Association Convention. Present includes Representative William Jefferson, among others. Photographs from July 5, 1994 are as follows: President William Jefferson Clinton jogs along the Potomac River in Washington, DC. President William Jefferson Clinton delivers a speech at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC regarding the economy. Present includes Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, Mickey Kantor, and Strobe Talbott, among others. Also photographed is Secretary Reich and Alexi Herman at the White House. President William Jefferson Clinton meets Governor Ray Mabus, new ambassador to Saudi Arabia, in the Oval Office at the White House. Also present is Martin Indyk. Later the President speaks on the telephone with President Boris Yeltsin of Russia. Also present are Jim Reed & Nick Burns. Following the call the President greets Lorraine Miller in the Outer Oval Office. President William Jefferson Clinton & Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. meet with senior staff in the Cabinet Room of the White House regarding Haiti. Present includes Strobe Talbott, Tony Lake, General John Shalikashvili, Nancy Soderberg, Leon Panetta, Thomas “Mack” McLarty, Leon Fuerth, Bill Gray, George Stephanopoulos, William Studeman, and Samuel “Sandy” Berger, among others. President William Jefferson Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton greet guests in the Diplomatic Reception Room & the South Lawn prior to departing the White House. The Clintons depart the White House via Marine One en route Andrews Air Force Base, then en route Riga, Latvia. The President speaks on the telephone to Governor Zell Miller. Also photographed includes Nicholas Burns, David Gergen, Mark Gearan, George Stephanopoulos, Dee Dee Myers, Tony Lake, Ricki Seidman, and Andrew Friendly. Records that were responsive to this FOIA request were found in one collection area and one series— Clinton Presidential Records: Photographs of the White House Photograph Office and the series therein—Photographs Relating to the Clinton Administration. Processing is done at the Folder/Contact sheet level. While this method maintains folder/contact sheet integrity, it frequently results in the processing of photographs that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
