FOIA 2016-0984-F (Segment 94) is a request for all Clinton Administration White House photographs taken from January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1994. The photographs processed in this segment were created on October 4, 1994 through October 6, 1994. The segment contains photographs pertaining to arrivals, departures, meetings, ceremonies, press briefings, interviews, photo-ops, etc., involving President William Jefferson Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, White House Staff, and others for the time period processed. Photographs responsive to this segment were previously processed in FOIA case number 2021-0654-F. Photographs from October 4, 1994 are as follows: First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton escorts the press pool to the East Room of the White House to see the table settings for the upcoming state dinner for President Nelson Mandela. Present is White House chef Walter Scheib, Ann Stock, Robyn Dickey, Nancy Clarke, and Lisa Caputo. White House kitchen staff prepares for the upcoming state dinner for President Nelson Mandela in the White House Mess. Photographs from October 5, 1994 are as follows: President William Jefferson Clinton meets with President Nelson Mandela of South Africa in the Oval Office of the White House. Present includes Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. Secretary of State Warren Christopher, and Tony Lake. President Mandela individually greets Betty Currie, Margaret Jane “Dee Dee” Myers, and Andrew Friendly. President Clinton & President Mandela converse alone, and later walk along the Colonnade. President William Jefferson Clinton meets with staff in the Oval Office prior to the President’s press conference with President Nelson Mandela. Prior to the press conference President Clinton and President Mandela converse in the Diplomatic Reception Room. President William Jefferson Clinton meets with AmeriCorps supporters in the Oval Office of the White House. Photographed includes Bruce Lindsey, Margaret Jane “Dee Dee” Myers, and Tony Lake. Later the President is photographed boarding Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base. President William Jefferson Clinton arrives at the Norfolk Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia. The President is accompanied by Secretary of Defense William Perry and Tony Lake. Also present is Admiral Paul David Miller. Later the President addresses United States Navy personnel and their families at the Norfolk Naval Air Station. Rear Admiral Paul Moses introduces the President. Prior to the event the President confers with Secretary of Defense William Perry, Tony Lake, and Margaret Jane “Dee Dee” Myers in a holding room. Records that were responsive to this FOIA request were found in one collection area and one series— Clinton Presidential Records: Photographs of the White House Photograph Office and the series therein—Photographs Relating to the Clinton Administration. Processing is done at the Folder/Contact sheet level. While this method maintains folder/contact sheet integrity, it frequently results in the processing of photographs that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
