Will Marshall is the president and founder of the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI). Founded in 1989, PPI served as the think tank arm of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), founded by Al From, until it dissolved in 2011. The Progressive Policy Institute and the DLC promoted more centrist Democratic ideals, including the New Democrat and “Third Way” movements. Mr. Marshall remains active in the PPI to this day and writes about policy matters for a variety of publications.
