She served on the National Economic Council (NEC) under President Clinton from 1998-1999. Her particular area of expertise was obtaining H-1B visas (temporary work permits) for immigrants at a time when the United States experienced a high-tech boom. The collection contains emails, memoranda, drafts of bills, correspondence, lists, charts, and graphs. Extensive handwritten comments by Rouse can be found throughout these records. Freedom of Information Act Collection Textual (2015-1095-F) Congressional Ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) This collection consists of records from the files of National Security Council staff member Steven Andreasen regarding efforts to obtain Congressional Ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) from 1997 to 1999. It contains memoranda regarding legislative strategy, a copy of the official submission to the Senate, fact sheets, and press materials. Freedom of Information Act Collection Textual (2015-1094-F) Corporation for Public Broadcasting This collection consists of records related to funding levels of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). It contains correspondence from concerned citizens, response letters from the President, memorandums between White House staff about the appropriate funding levels of the CPB, and annual bound reports from the CPB submitted to the President. Email from this collection consists primarily of the 1997 Omnibus Budget. Other email includes congressional reports or news reports concerning the federal budget. This collection consists of correspondence to the President from Brigadier General Vercauteren, an email containing a brief mention of the President Clinton’s November 1994 Hawaii vacation, and electronic daily diary entries that recorded President Clinton’s telephone calls during this vacation. It contains correspondence between Monsanto Chairman and CEO Robert B. Shapiro and President Clinton regarding opening New York to London air routes, the Product Liability Reform Act of 1996, Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) with China, the nomination of Ambassador Barshefsky as the U.S. Trade Representative, and the U.S. – E.U. Batcheller served as Deputy Press Secretary for the First Lady’s Office from 2000-2001, where she promoted initiatives related to women, children, health care and the arts, among other policy efforts. This collection includes primarily press inquiries for filming and events involving the First Lady at the White House. Freedom of Information Act Collection Textual (2015-0940-F) Donald Trump This collection consists of records related to Donald Trump or the Trump Organization. This collection consists of an invitation for the President to attend a charity dinner in Atlantic City, an autographed copy of Mr. Trump’s 1987 book The Art of the Deal, press briefing material that briefly mentions Mr. Trump in connection with the upcoming 2000 election, and email concerning notes sent from President Clinton to Trump on the occasion of his birthday. The emails also include reference to Trump’s campaign for President in 2000. This collection also contains printed database entries concerning Trump’s invitations to White House events and a photo-op Donald Trump shared with the President at the Trump Towers in New York.
