The General Files were a collaborative collection created by members of the Office of Speechwriting staff, including interns, in order to form a research library of sorts. The records were used as reference materials by speechwriters to assist with the writing and editing process. This collection primarily contains transcripts of speeches, given both by President Clinton during his administration and as Governor of Arkansas, and background material used to draft speeches.
